If you have ever loved a dog like family, you know that they are never “just a dog.” They are your baby. Your best friend. Your family.

This is the story of Coco — our sweet, loving, playful boy who has brought so much happiness into our lives.

Coco just turned 6 years old, and if you know him, you know he is one of the happiest Frenchies you could ever meet. He loves to play, loves to be loved, and has the kindest little soul. To us, Coco isn’t just a dog — he is family, my baby, and a huge part of our hearts.

But on August 21, 2026, everything changed.

Coco was diagnosed with IVDD (Intervertebral Disc Disease), a painful condition affecting the discs in his spine. Our happy, playful boy suddenly found himself unable to live the life he loves. He is now on strict crate rest for six weeks in an effort to control the pain and swelling and, most importantly, prevent further damage to his spine.

Then this past Sunday, Coco began shaking and panting heavily, clearly in pain. We rushed him to the emergency room, where he received injectable medications to help manage his pain and underwent X-rays. We were devastated to learn that Coco has several herniated discs and needs to be evaluated by a veterinary neurologist as soon as possible.

Coco was seen by the neurologist and now he is on strict crate rest for six-eight weeks, with the hope that the swelling and pain in his spine can be controlled and that we can prevent further damage.

The financial burden has already become overwhelming. Between his initial veterinary visit, emergency room care, medications, neurology consultation, we are already at approximately $2,500, with more expenses expected.

I am a single mom, and I never imagined I would find myself in a position where I have to ask for help with my baby. I am doing everything I possibly can for Coco, but I simply cannot carry these costs alone.

Our greatest hope is to give Coco the medical care he needs and bring our happy, playful boy back home to us. We want to fight for him. ❤️
